Digital Reimaging-good/bad?

I think the Iranian missile picture is one that hurts society. The picture is supposed to be in the news, so the editor photo shopped the image. The fake image made its way into the news and shows more missiles being fired than actually were fired. This is discouraging considering what the news is supposed to be.

The news is supposed to be a truthful and reliable way for us to see what is going on around the world. But if people are editing images to make them juicier and strike more of our attention, then they are hiding the truth. If the media is doing this more and more than is the news something we can really trust for us to find out what is going on in the world around us? The fact that they just re imaged a missile being launched shows they photo shopped it. You can clearly see the smoke from the launch of two of the missiles is 100% the same.
