Blog 6

In class we seen interesting pictures of how the media wants stories and pictures to be portrayed. The retouching industry can make people look like a completely different person. The problem with that is that, there are kids who want to look like those magazine cover, but in reality they cant. I also think that some models would not want their picture on a cover without it being retouched.

On the cover of Redbook magazine with Faith Hill, they completely change a normal looking person into a fictional character it seems. They changed everything you can imagine from her dress to the way her arm was shaped. The even changed how tan she looked. The oringinal picture was fine the way it was until you seen the retouched picture.

Its crazy how you can see the original picture of someone then see how much retouching actually goes into the out come that is shown on covers of magazines. They can make an ordinary person to make them basically look like a top model. There most definitely needs to be some changes in the retouching industry, however i don't think the need to completely stop retouching. I just think they should just get some type of hold on it.
